Announcements
You are invited to join the HHS Band Program Thursday, March 31st at the new Freddy's Frozen Custard across from the Thornton Cabela's.  If you show a copy of the digital or paper flyer, Freddy's will donate a portion of the proceeds to the HHS Band.  Please consider joining the band from 4 - 8 at Freddy's Frozen Custard. Go to http://horizon.adams12.org/departments/music and then to the band website to print off the flyer.

Horizon High School has once again implemented an attendance policy for all students going to prom.  However, grades 9 &10 must be invited to prom by an upper classman to be able to attend prom.  Students wishing to attend prom are expected to maintain a minimum 95% attendance rate starting October 19, 2015 through April 21, 2016.  We are only monitoring unexcused absences and unexcused partial absences.
Please make sure you call the Attendance line at 720-972-4597 to excuse your students.

Students, April 22nd is Prom. You must have your 2015/2016 Horizon ID to be admitted to Prom or AfterProm.  If you have lost your ID, you must request a replacement from Mrs. Cummings in Counseling.  There will be a $5 charge for each replacement ID.  Deadline to request a replacement ID for Prom is April 20th.  Don’t miss out!

Students who plan on bringing a guest to prom that does not go to Horizon High School must have a guest pass filled out and signed by a Dean.  Guest passes are available in the Dean's office

Attention Horizon Hawks,
National Honor Society is hosting Horizon's first ever Ping Pong Tournament for the American Heart Association on March 30th in the loft here at school! Come pick up your forms in the main office and bring them to the student center along with a registration fee of $5 during Periods 4-7. There will be both a Singles and Doubles bracket, so grab your friends and join NHS to help raise money and awareness for the #1 leading cause of death in the United States; Heart Disease!

Starting the week of March 27th help out your fellow Hawks with their Big Idea Projects by bringing in lightly used or new stuffed animals for a local foster care home and elementary aged books for McElwain Elementary School.  Think about all the sad stuffed animals and old books just sitting on your shelf, and now think of a child smiling brightly, a smile that you caused because of your donation.  Donation bins will be found in the front lobby the entire week of March 27th.

Announcement #1:
Juniors and Seniors! Please nominate your classmates for prom royalty using the form, which is available on the school website. You may submit multiple responses to this form, but each response must be unique. All responses must be received no later than midnight on April 10th. Voting will take place April 13-21 online.

Annoncement #2:
Horizon High School Junior Leadership is proud to announce the 2016 prom, Starry Nights, City Lights. The dance will be held on April 22nd from 8 p.m. to midnight at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. Ticket sales will begin on Tuesday, April 12th during all lunches. Tickets are $40 and will not be sold at the dance, so plan to get your tickets as soon as possible. Please have a valid student ID to purchase tickets and make sure you check your eligibility on the attendance lists across from the Dean's office as only juniors and seniors who meet the attendance requirements will be sold a ticket. If you have questions about purchasing tickets, please contact Mrs. Gallagher or Ms. Keigan.

ATTENTION JUNIORS
The RMASS “Zapping the ACT” prep seminar will be coming to Horizon on March 30th & 31st.  For an opportunity to participate in this awesome two-day after school seminar, you must see Mrs. Bell or Mrs. Neumann in the counseling office to sign up for a spot.  The cost of this two-day seminar is usually $89 – but Dr. Shadwell will be paying $50 of the $89 for the first 100 students who sign up – so it will cost you only $39.  Don’t pass up this great opportunity to get “prepped” for the ACT Test coming in April. Sign up for the seminar in Counseling.
