Announcements 

Due to safety concerns there will not be any costumes allowed at Horizon on any days leading up to or on Halloween.  
Congratulations to the following Battle of the Books Club members for their team's 1st place finish at our Battle on Monday: Kandice Agudo, Kayley Sanders, Hanna Dorsett and Savannah Fillerup.  Great work, readers!

You must have 95% or better attendance to attend Prom beginning 2nd quarter.  Please check list in hallway across from the Dean's office.

Hungry?  Come eat at Big City Burrito at 136th & I-25 (next to Lowe’s) this Thursday, October 27th and help support the Music & Theatre Department raise money.   All day Thursday, Big City Burrito will donate a portion of your food cost to the Music & Theatre Department.  Help support your Horizon Hawks!!

Counseling

Attention Seniors! Horizon High School will host a FAFSA (Free Application For Student Aid) tonight from 4:00PM to 6:00PM in the library.  If you are in need of completing your financial aid application for the 2017-2018 college academic year, please plan to attend.  The Educational Opportunity Center will be on hand to assist you.  Your parent/guardian will need to attend with you and bring their completed 2015 tax return. 

Attention Seniors: The Daniels Fund Scholarship application is now open!
The deadline is November 30thThis scholarship pays for 100% of your college expenses; however, families must first show economic need before the application process can begin and all applicants must complete the 2017/18 FAFSA prior to applying.  For more information, go to the Daniels Fund website at www.DanielsFund.org.  Please inform Mrs. Neumann if you are applying for the Daniels Fund scholarship.

Sports, Drama, & Clubs

Soccer playoff game this Thursday against Ralston Valley @ 5:00 pm at the NACC (North Area Athletic Complex), 19500 W 64th Pkwy, Arvada.  Come support your Hawks Soccer on to victory!

Congratulations to DECA on their great success at the CU Invitational.  Way to go Hawks!!

Winter Athletic Check-In will be November 2nd-9th. Paperwork is not accepted on November 14th. Don't forget to have your updated physical and payment. Required paperwork is on line on the athletic page or you can pick them up in the athletic office during school hours. 

The Athletic Parent Meeting has been changed due to a conflict. It will be held on October 25th instead of November 1st. 6:00pm in the student center.
