Announcements: Tuesday 10-13-2015

Congratulations to the HHS Marching Hawks for earning 3rd place out of 28 bands in the Legend Marching Festival last weekend!  The Marching Hawks also competed in the CBA Regional competition on Monday and earned 6th place in their class.  Great work, band!  

It's time to celebrate! It's National School Lunch Week! Just by eating every day this week you increase your chances to win Elitches tickets! That's right-just eat a healthy, delicious meal & tickets may be yours. Just in time to get spooked at the best Halloween attraction in Denver. Three tickets per grade level, winners will be announced on October 16th

Horizon FBLA will be hosting our annual blood drive on Friday, November 6 in the auditorium lobby. There is a schedule of appointments in E0505 to fill with 54 staff and student donors. If you have never given blood, please consider donating. Every pint donation has the potential to save up to 3 lives!
If you are under 18, parent permission is required. Parent permission forms can be picked up in E0505. See Mr. Wilke with any questions.
Counseling

Seniors:  The Daniels Fund Scholarship deadline is November 13th. This scholarship pays for 100% of your college expenses; however, families must first show economic need before the application process can begin. For more information, see Mrs. Neumann in the Counseling Office or go to the Daniels Fund website at www.DanielsFund.org and take the eligibility questionnaire.

Attention Sophomores & Juniors:  On Wednesday, October 28, Horizon High School will offer the PSAT/NMSQT exam to students.  You can sign up to take the test in the Counseling Office.  TO SIGN UP, YOU MUST BRING EITHER CASH OR CHECK IN THE AMOUNT OF $25 TO MRS. NEUMANN (in the Counseling Office).  YOU WILL NOT BE SIGNED UP WITHOUT PAYMENT.  The deadline to sign up is Tuesday, October 13th.  The test cost is $25.  The test will be given at the Adams 12 Educational Support Center (ESC).  *Transportation will not be provided.  The PSAT/NMSQT is the ONLY way juniors can qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program.

SportsDrama & Clubs

Athletic check-in will be November 2nd-November 10th. Paperwork is available on line or in the athletic office. Please see Ms Hill if you have any questions.

The orchestra Baroque Masquerade Ball is just a little over a week away.  Set your reminders for Monday, Oct. 19th at 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the Greystone Castle/ Doubletree Hotel at 120th and I25.  

5:30 - 6:30 - Orchestra will play a free concert
6:30 - 7:30 - Court performances for Charities (donations accepted - not required)
7:30 - 8:30 - Sempice - Baroque Chamber Ensemble - professional performance for all - free

Bring the entire family - all princes and princesses welcome! Costumes encouraged, but not required.  

Fun is mandatory!  Leave you inhibitions at home.  The baroque time period is about having fun and being elaborate!
