Announcements: Monday 10-19-2015

Athletic check-in will be November 2nd-November 10th. Paperwork is available on line or in the athletic office. Please see Ms Hill if you have any questions.

Horizon FBLA will be hosting our annual blood drive on Friday, November 6 in the auditorium lobby. There is a schedule of appointments in E0505 to fill with 54 staff and student donors. If you have never given blood, please consider donating. Every pint donation has the potential to save up to 3 lives!
If you are under 18, parent permission is required. Parent permission forms can be picked up in E0505. See Mr. Wilke with any questions.

Congratulations to the HHS Marching Hawks for earning 3rd place out of 11 bands at the Friendship Cup Marching Competition!  The Marching Hawks also earned a spot in the State Marching Band Competition to be held this week.  The marching band hasn't been in the state competition for over 15 years.  Congratulations, Marching Hawks!  
Counseling
Seniors:  The Daniels Fund Scholarship deadline is November 13th. This scholarship pays for 100% of your college expenses; however, families must first show economic need before the application process can begin. For more information, see Mrs. Neumann in the Counseling Office or go to the Daniels Fund website at www.DanielsFund.org and take the eligibility questionnaire.

Attention Juniors and Sophomores:  On Wednesday, October 28, Horizon High School will offer the PSAT/NMSQT exam to students.  You can sign up to take the test in the Counseling Office.  TO SIGN UP, YOU MUST BRING EITHER CASH OR CHECK IN THE AMOUNT OF $25 TO MRS. NEUMANN (in the Counseling Office).  YOU WILL NOT BE SIGNED UP WITHOUT PAYMENT.  The deadline to sign up is today.  The test cost is $25.  The test will be given at the Adams 12 Educational Support Center (ESC).  *Transportation will not be provided.  The PSAT/NMSQT is the ONLY way juniors can qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program.
SportsDrama & Clubs
We are pleased to announce the upcoming Shakespearean Baroque concert featuring the Horizon High School Orchestra ... including several magnificent soloists.  
The concert is Monday night Oct. 19th at 5:30 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel.  This is a masquerade ball with costumes and dancing encouraged.  The performance is free... please see any orchestra member for details or check out the posters hanging in the hallway. 
5:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the Greystone Castle/ Doubletree Hotel at 120th and I25.  
5:30 - 6:30 - Orchestra will play a free concert
6:30 - 7:30 - Court performances for Charities (donations accepted - not required)
7:30 - 8:30 - Sempice - Baroque Chamber Ensemble - professional performance for all
Bring the entire family - all princes and princesses welcome! Costumes encouraged, but not required.  
Fun is mandatory!  Leave your inhibitions at home.  The baroque time period is about having fun and being elaborate!

Come support your Boys Hawk Soccer team tomorrow night at the North Stadium 6:00 pm. Against Mtn, Range. Cheer them on to victory!

Boys open gym for basketball  - 3:30-5:00.

If you would like to ride the Spirit bus to Ft. Collins, Thursday night to watch the boys football game against Poudre, come sign up in the Main Office. Cost is $5.00 for pizza and bus ride.  Entrance into the game is extra.
