Announcements: Friday 10-30-2015

Athletic check-in will be November 2nd-November 10th. Paperwork is available on line or in the athletic office. Please see Ms Hill if you have any questions.

Horizon High School has once again implemented an attendance policy for students, grades 9-12 to be able to attend prom.  Students wishing to attend prom are expected to maintain a minimum 95% attendance rate starting October 19, 2015 through April 21, 2016.  We are only monitoring unexcused absences and unexcused partial absences. 
Please make sure you call the Attendance line at 720-972-4597 to excuse your students.

"Seniors, please visit the Horizon website for the link to vote for your class song, motto, and the design of your senior shirts! Deadline for voting is Tuesday, November 3."

Horizon FBLA will be hosting our annual blood drive on Friday, November 6 in the auditorium lobby. There is a schedule of appointments in E0505 to fill with 54 staff and student donors. If you have never given blood, please consider donating. Every pint donation has the potential to save up to 3 lives!
If you are under 18, parent permission is required. Parent permission forms can be picked up in E0505. See Mr. Wilke with any questions.


Seniors:  The Daniels Fund Scholarship deadline is November 13th. This scholarship pays for 100% of your college expenses; however, families must first show economic need before the application process can begin. For more information, see Mrs. Neumann in the Counseling Office or go to the Daniels Fund website at and take the eligibility questionnaire.

Sports, Drama & Clubs

The following students have​ qualified for state in Cross Country and will be running on Saturday in Colorado Springs (Norris Penrose Event Center) at 11am.    Alex Dove, Audrey Herrald, Lauren Knight, Lizzie Atwood, Madison Mooney, Megan Mooney, Natalie Platil, Lizzy Romero, Taylor Bakel.  Also helping us get there:  Melanie Sundahl, Gabi Courtney, Caitlin McNally

All girls interested in playing soccer this spring there will be an informational meeting for both players and parents next Tuesday November 3 at 5:00 in room B0200. So that’s next Tuesday at 5:00 hope to see you there!

Boys Basketball:  Winter Camp November 9-10 from 3:30-5:30 (all grade levels).  TRYOUTS November 12-13 from 3:30-6:30, and Saturday November 14 from 9:00-12:00.
