PROM TICKETS ARE ON SALE SOON! Juniors and Seniors: Come Fly With Me! Prom tickets will be on sale Monday, April 7 - Thursday, April 10 in the Student Center during lunches, and also after school Wednesday, April 9th, and Thursday, April 10. Tickets are $40 each and you must present ID to purchase your tickets. You may only purchase 2 tickets. You may only purchase tickets if you are on the 95% Attendance List. Students purchasing a ticket for a non-Horizon student must obtain a Guest Pass from the Dean's Office before buying tickets.

Juniors and Seniors, if you are planning to take someone to Prom who does not attend Horizon, please pick up a permission form in the Dean’s Office.  All forms are due by Wednesday, April 9th.

Help kids in need?  A school in our district McElwain Elementary is in need of your help Horizon!  Help out by donating new uniforms:  Navy pants or shirts sizes 5-12.  Another way to help is by donating gently used /new books.  Students would greatly appreciate your help.

Senior Updates
All scholarship offers should be reported to Ms. Jones in the Main Office by April 4th in order for them to be recognized at the Senior dinner on the 28th of April and to be acknowledged in the graduation program. 

If you are a Hispanic student wanting to continue on to college and you have given a lot to your community -- you should be applying for the Hispanic Advisory Council scholarship!  The deadline is coming up soon on April 7, so don't delay!  See NAVIANCE or Ms. Blue in Counseling for more information!

If You Are Planning A Career In Aviation As A Pilot Or Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic – See Ms. Blue For The 1,000 Lee Larson Memorial Aviation Scholarship.  This Scholarship Is Sponsored By A Retired Horizon Educator And The Recipient Will Definitely Be From Horizon!  So Don't Delay -- Apply Today!  Deadline Is May 2.

It's time to get serious.  In addition to making the grade to graduate you need to pay all fees and fines by May 1. You will NOT be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony, receive your diploma or yearbook if you have a balance due to the District.  Please check your Infinite Campus account and pay the balance due via the Pay-For-It system.   You also have the option to pay fees at the Bookkeeping office.  The Senior fine list is posted outside the Bookkeeping Office and is updated regularly.

Counseling News
ATTENTION STUDENTS AGE 13-17:  Would you like something to do this summer that will:  First -- keep you from being bored but not as busy as a full-on summer job!  Second -- allow you to hang out in a not-too-hot but not-too-cold beautiful garden all day! AND  Third -- give you something awesome to put on a resume for colleges or scholarships!  If so, you should volunteer as a "Teen Exploration Leader" for the Denver Botanic Gardens Summer Kids Program.  Students can sign up to be a Play Facilitator, Pipsqueak Pond Facilitator, or a Teen Ambassador.  You must sign up online and attend an April 13 orientation.  See Counseling Office for more information.

Are you credit deficient?  Summer school early registration paperwork is in.  If you need to make up credits in summer school, please see your counselor as soon as possible.

Would you like to improve your reading skills this summer? Regis University offers FREE once-a-week classes at Broomfield High School taught by professional instructors from the Institute of Reading Development. These classes are excellent for students who feel they need extra help in reading AND for college-bound students who hope to increase their reading speed and comprehension as preparation for college.  See counseling office for registration information!

Congratulations to art students:   Eliajah Larry, Ishea (pronounced EEshee) Lee,  Kelsey Townes, Vannyda Thipsombath (pronounced VanEdah Tipsombath) Jordan Orcutt and Shane Ostrom!  Their artwork has been selected for the Adams 12 Annual Juried Art Show. The opening reception is Friday, April 4th from 5-6:30 at the ESC where their work is on display. 

Calling all Ultimate Frisbee players! Spring has returned and so has Ultimate Frisbee Club! Come Thursday to our first spring meeting at3:10, in the courtyard. Never played before? No problem -- we'll teach you! Frisbee on Thursday!
