Help Out Kids in Need!  McElwain Elementary students are in need of your help, Horizon! Most of these elementary kids, who are a part of our district, live in poverty. Most cannot afford their basic needs, especially their school uniforms. What are the kids in need of? Navy/White T-shirts or polo shirts, Navy/Khaki Uniform Pants, (SIZES 5-12), and gently-used or new children’s books.  There will be a bin located in the main office for all donations until Thursday, April 10, 2014. Thank you for supporting the children of Mc ELwain Elementary School.

Next week is spirit week.  Students can instagram your Spirit wear with #HorizonSpirit to win prizes.  Show your spirit by participating in the theme of the day.

Monday is Morp day, so dress casual
Tuesday - 80's day,
Wednesday - Tacky Tourist day, time to show off that big flowery shirt
Thursday - Hawk Pride day

Enjoy a week of Hawk spirit and pride!!

Counseling News
ATTENTION STUDENTS AGE 13-17:  Would you like something to do this summer that will:  First -- keep you from being bored but not as busy as a full-on summer job!  Second -- allow you to hang out in a not-too-hot but not-too-cold beautiful garden all day! AND  Third -- give you something awesome to put on a resume for colleges or scholarships!  If so, you should volunteer as a "Teen Exploration Leader" for the Denver Botanic Gardens Summer Kids Program.  Students can sign up to be a Play Facilitator, Pipsqueak Pond Facilitator, or a Teen Ambassador.  You must sign up online and attend an April 13 orientation.  See Counseling Office for more information.
