Announcement: Friday, 04-25-2014

Now is the time to buy your yearbooks!  You can buy your yearbook at jostensyearbooks.com or go to the Horizon web page and click on the “Yearbook” tab.  Yearbooks are $75.00 and distribution will begin for all grades on Monday, May 5th.  But as a special treat, Seniors can receive their yearbooks on Friday May 2nd!

Are you interested in a career in law enforcement?  The City of Thornton is currently recruiting juniors and seniors interested in a career in law enforcement for our Youth Police Academy.  The academy runs from June 9 through June 13, 2014 and August 4 through the 8th, and applications are due to Officer Quintana by May 1st, 2014.  See officer “Q” for applications and further information.

To all students:  Do not leave your backpack unattended at any time during the school day.

Students: The library has over 700 books that are overdue. Please come in and renew or return your books to avoid any further fees or fines.

Poetry Cafe is coming up! Join us for poetry readings and refreshments in the library Wednesday, April 30th after classes from 12:35-2:00pm. Please sign up in the library by Monday April 28th to participate.

Senior Updates

Senior dinner tickets on sale periods 3-8 in the Main Lobby all week. 

Graduation is fast approaching Seniors and you must have all fees and fines paid by May 1. You will NOT be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony or receive your diploma if you have a balance due to the District.  Your Infinite Campus account has the  balance due and you can pay the bill via the Pay-For-It system.   You can also pay fees at the Bookkeeping office.   The Senior fine list is posted outside the Bookkeeping Office and is updated regularly.

To receive your yearbook your fees/fines must be paid by Wednesday, April 30th .

Counseling News

Would you like to improve your reading skills this summer? Regis University offers FREE once-a-week classes at Broomfield High School taught by professional instructors from the Institute of Reading Development. These classes are excellent for students who feel they need extra help in reading AND for college-bound students who hope to increase their reading speed and comprehension as preparation for college.  See counseling office for registration information!

Are you credit deficient?  Summer school early registration paperwork is in.  If you need to make up credits in summer school, please see your counselor as soon as possible.

Last Community Service Meeting of this school year on Monday, April 28 at 3 pm. Come say goodbye and thanks to Seniors, enjoy refreshments and sign up for the Puppy Rescue and Carnival! See you there!
