Announcements, Friday, 10-04-2013

It's that time again! Next week is Homecoming week! Be prepared to show your Horizon Hawk Pride. 
Everyday is a spirit day with Monday being Classy Day. Represent your class, Seniors wear white, juniors black, sophomores gray, and freshman maroon. Monday Night is Powder Puff Football. Come support your junior and senior girls. The game starts at 7:00 pm @ North Stadium. Check the Horizon website for the rest of the spirit days and homecoming events next week. 
Tickets for the 2013 Homecoming Dance will be on sale starting Monday in the student center. Pre-sale are $12!

Attention seniors: The deadline to submit your senior photo and quotation for the yearbook is coming up on Friday, October 18. For detailed instructions on submitting your photo and quotation, please go to the yearbook link under clubs and activities from the Horizon home page.

Students are allowed only ONE guest at the Homecoming Dance.  If you are bringing a guest to Homecoming that does not go to Horizon High School please pick up a permission slip in the Dean’s Office

The Hawk Supply Store is open for business!! Do you need a pencil? paper? gum? sticky notes? The Store has them all for a great price. Store is open 1st, 6th, and 8th hour daily!
Counseling

All “College Fairs” are not alike!  Did you know that there are several “Fairs” coming up in October that will focus on OUT-OF-STATE colleges?  Literally 100’s of college representatives from all over the USA will be at these “Fairs” to help you discover their campuses, compare costs, & learn whether out-of-state might be perfect (and maybe even cheaper) for you.  These October “Fairs” are spread around the city, Wednesday evening, Oct. 9 in Lafayette; Thursday evening, Oct. 10 in Denver; and Saturdaymorning, Oct. 12 in Highlands Ranch.  Students from all high schools are welcome!  See Counseling for details.

ATTN STUDENTS:  The Denver National College Fair is Saturday, October 5th from 1pm-4pm at the Colorado Convention Center. Along with the opportunity to connect with over 300 in- and out-of-state colleges, sessions will be offered on the following topics:  *Choosing the Right College, *How to Pay for College: Financial Aid and Scholarships, *How to Creating Compelling College and Scholarship Applications.   Students planning to attend should register in advance at www.gotomyncf.com.

Seniors:  The Daniels Fund Scholarship is now open with a deadline of Nov. 15th.  This scholarship pays for 100% of your college expenses; however, families must first show economic need before the application process can begin.  For more information see Ms. Blue in the Counseling Office or go to the Daniels Fund website at www.DanielsFund.org and take their eligibility questionnaire.
